The origins of present Gi.de.co Srl date back to 1984 when Giovanna Muratori founded Zenzero Sas. This new- born company was active in the textile-clothes sector and particularly in the production and wholesale distribution of children clothes and maternity dresses.

During its first three years of activity Zenzero Sas recorded a constant and significant business increase. Therefore in 1988 Giovanna Muratori and her husband Giovanni Del Carlo decided to found a new company, Gi.de.co Srl, with the aim of further developing their turnover.

marks a turning point. Even though the volume of business was increasing steadily, market conditions began to change: business partners demanded a reduction in sale prices and external workshops in charge of some garment production steps, increased prices dramatically.

This led the company’s owners to develop a strategy of cost reduction through production relocation. Analysis and feasibility studies identified the industrial area of Bekescaba in South-Eastern Hungary as the most suitable place for the achievement of the company’s new objectives.

Therefore on Gi.de.co founded Zenzero K.f.t., a Hungarian company. After presenting a market penetration plan, the new company was granted funds by Simest, a public investment trust company for business development. Zenzero K.f.t. then employed as many as 135 people and generated induced activities for over 30 workshops.

During the following decade Hungarian economy grew and competitiveness in terms of lower production costs in this country decreased, when compared to other emerging countries. At the same time textile and clothes market was experiencing a period of recession. Gideco then developed a double strategy: disinvestments in the production plant in Hungary and conversion of the local facilities into business facilities to be rented to third parties and contemporarily an increase in external suppliers network.
